Our classroom class schedule is Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 10 am, Mondays at 6 pm, Wednesdays at 5:30 pm, and Saturdays at 9 am.

ACLS classes are offered every Monday and Friday at 9 am. 

 

To register for any class, please find the class that works for your schedule on the calendar and CLICK on it. Once the class registration page opens, follow the prompts.

 

If you would like to pay with CASH on the day of the class, please enter the word CASH in the promo code section of the registration form.

Rescheduling Policy  

NO FEE for requests made within 48 hours prior to the scheduled class.
$15 FEE (CPR) / $25 FEE (ACLS) for requests made within 24 hours prior to the scheduled class.
$25 FEE (CPR) / $50 FEE (ACLS) for requests made the same day of a scheduled class or for NO-SHOWS who want to reschedule after their scheduled class.  

There is NO refund for any classes with an online component (online keycode) or the purchase of eBooks.

 Online ebooks and classes become the property of the purchaser.

American Heart Association

We offer a combo course, the first aid portion is online with a hands-on skills check and the CPR BLS portion is in the classroom.

Who Needs CPR BLS/First Aid: Home Health Care, School Nurse, Physical Therapy, CNA, PT, PTA, Pharmacy, LPN, RN, EMT, etc... You may also need First Aid along with your BLS card.
This is a two Online Module Class and Skills Check. One for BLS/CPR and one for Heartsaver First Aid. 

At the end of this combination class (same day), each student will receive a BLS and a First Aid Certification Card from the American Heart Association (valid for a full 2-year period).

  • CPR with an advanced airway*

CPR instruction includes high-quality compressions, airway management, breathing, and how to use a mask.

First Aid instruction includes bandaging, bleeding, wounds, choking, shock, seizure, fainting, broken bones, sprains, burns, bites, stings, poison, and temperature-related conditions, to name a few.

Step 1: Complete your registration. Choose a scheduled time or a private session (an addtional $25 fee applies). 

Step 2: Take Online Modules.  Follow instructions in confirmation email (check your spam folder). You have registered for two separate Online modules. One for BLS and one for First Aid. 

Step 3: Print your online certifications of completion. Print and bring this certificate with you or email your certificate to carlos@firstcoastcpr.com.

Step 4: Attend your skills practice and skill test.  With your online course complete and completion certificate in hand, attend your scheduled course with one of our AHA instructor.

Who Needs ACLS: Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS) is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units.  First Coast CPR offers ACLS certification in a classroom environment or American Heart Association ACLS Online Certifications. 

Course Requirements: You must hold a current BLS certification.  You must also complete the Pre-Course Work (see below).

Pre-Course Work:

  • You must complete this online Pre-Course Self Assessment Work
  • Visit the following website: ACLS Precourse Self Assessment
  • Click the red button LAUNCH THIS COURSE 
  • Log in with your American Heart Association credentials. If you don't have an account with the American Heart Association, you will need to create one.
  • Complete the Pre-Course Self Assessment.  You need a passing grade or 70%. This may require you to take this pre-course assessment several times.
  • PRINT and BRING the successful completion page, without it you won't be able to attend the class.

PLEASE READ: All students must take the FULL COURSE to receive the 2020 AHA ACLS Certification. There is a renewal option, but you must first show proof you have taken the ACLS FULL COURSE with the 2020 AHA Guidelines.  

Course Content:

  • Define systems of care
  • Apply the BLS, Primary, and Secondary Assessments sequence for a systematic evaluation of adult patients
  • Discuss how the use of a rapid response team (RRT) or medical emergency team (MET) may improve patient outcomes
  • Discuss early recognition and management of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), including appropriate disposition
  • Discuss early recognition and management of stroke, including appropriate disposition
  • Recognize bradycardias and tachycardias that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome
  • Perform early management of bradycardias and tachycardias that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome
  • Model effective communication as a member or leader of a high-performance team
  • Recognize the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance
  • Recognize respiratory arrest
  • Perform early management of respiratory arrest
  • Recognize cardiac arrest
  • Perform prompt, high-quality BLS including prioritizing early chest compressions and integrating early automated external defibrillator (AED) use
  • Perform early management of cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation or transfer of care, including immediate post–cardiac arrest care
  • Evaluate resuscitative efforts during a cardiac arrest through continuous assessment of CPR quality, monitoring the patient’s physiologic response, and delivering real-time feedback to the team

The American Heart Association BLS Instructor Course is the Prerequisite needed to teach American Heart Association BLS and Heartsaver level certification courses.

 Apply to be a member of an AHA BLS Training Center and have a completed Instructor Candidate Application on file with the accepting Training Center.

Have a current AHA BLS Provider course completion card

and be proficient in all BLS skills. You can always enroll in one of our classes if you don’t have a current AHA BLS Provider Card. To enroll in a BLS/CPR provider class, please CLICK HERE.


4) Successfully complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Course
.

The course consists of 2 parts: a) an online portion and b) a classroom/hands-on session.

  1. The online course is a Pre-Requisite so the candidate MUST complete the ONLINE portion before attending the classroom/hands-on session.

  2. The candidate must take the classroom/hands-on session and score an 84% or higher on the final written test.

5) Successfully be monitored teaching within 6 months of completing the hands-on session of the BLS Instructor Essentials Course. If necessary, you might need to be monitored more than once, to ensure that you are confident and feel completely comfortable teaching ALL BLS/CPR courses offered by the AHA.
Monitoring options will be discussed during the classroom portion of the Instructor course.

 All new AHA Instructors must register and be confirmed on the AHA Instructor Network to receive their AHA Instructor ID #, which must be used to issue course completion cards.

Once you become an Instructor, you will have access to the most current emergency cardiovascular care science, course updates, training resources, and tools through the online AHA Instructor Network.

You will also be able to teach AHA Certification courses under your Training Center or Training Site, post-class dates and times to reach more students through their or your website, or the AHA Instructor Network public website.
